Apr. 15 Council Meeting

Post by Tommy Smith » Wed Feb 19, 2025 1:05 pm

Hi, everyone. There was a brief conversation at the Budget Retreat about moving the Apr. 15 Council meeting so that everyone can attend the opening of the multi-use stadium.

My recommendation is to move agenda items from Apr. 15 to Apr. 29 similar to how we do in December each year. There is a good chance Planning items can be moved even earlier to Apr 1. We can also move Beer Board from Apr. 15 to Apr. 1.

The only alternative is moving the Apr. 15 Council meeting to an earlier time that day (3pm), but that may more difficult to juggle with work conflicts and result in less public attendance.

If you have any comments, please share them before Friday at noon so I can draft a related Resolution.

Hi all,

My preference would be to hold a shorter meeting at 5pm that day so as to not disrupt any city business needing to move forward at that time. Also, similar to the parade for UT baseball, it would be ideal in my opinion to already be downtown and parked and able to walk or carpool from the meeting. I do not have a strong opinion either way however as long as we can adequately carry out the business of the city and canceling our meeting would not pose a hardship on any city function.
